but these are the dogs that are behind "our" breed, that represent some of the earlier generations.  Often dogs just like this are the "unknowns" far enough back in your pedigree.

 

*Many of the pictures on this page have been digitally "cleaned up" to show colors and clarity on dogs.  This explains why some colors are clearer than would be expected for old photos.

At age 16 (1948) this dog was awarded badge for heroism by Red Heart when he saved his mistress from a mad cow.
